The 16th Tbilisi Regional Sustainable Development Forum once again highlighted that the future of the energy sector is not determined solely by new technologies, infrastructure projects, and investments. The foundation of every successful energy transition lies in human capital.
The forum addressed a number of critical topics, including energy independence, renewable energy development, energy efficiency, the green economy, climate change challenges, and sustainable development. However, the successful implementation of all these priorities ultimately depends on the availability of qualified professionals equipped with modern knowledge, practical skills, and the ability to meet evolving industry demands.
As Georgia continues to advance in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and modern energy technologies, the consistent and long-term development of human capital becomes increasingly important. It is people who design, manage, operate, and improve the systems that ensure a country’s energy security, economic growth, and sustainable development.
In this context, the role of vocational education is particularly significant. The energy sector requires not only specialists with theoretical knowledge but also professionals with practical experience, technological competence, and skills aligned with international standards. Therefore, cooperation between the education sector and industry is no longer simply desirable—it is an essential prerequisite for national competitiveness and sustainable development.
For Safety Academia Vocational College, strong cooperation among government institutions, the private sector, international partners, and educational institutions is of particular importance. We firmly believe that only through such collaboration can we prepare the qualified workforce needed to support the continued development of Georgia’s energy sector and strengthen the country’s green economy.
