Safety Academia Vocational College was proud to participate in one of the most impactful sessions of the EVBB Policy Camp 2026, delivered by Jolien van Uden, Senior Human Capital Development Expert and Coordinator for Vocational Excellence at the European Training Foundation (ETF).
Her presentation addressed one of the most important strategic questions facing vocational education today:
How can VET institutions move beyond ambition and objectively measure, demonstrate, and continuously improve vocational excellence?
Jolien introduced ISATCOVE—ETF's International Self-Assessment Tool for Vocational Excellence—a comprehensive framework that enables VET providers to assess their institutional maturity, identify strengths and areas for improvement, benchmark their performance against international standards, and develop evidence-based strategies for continuous improvement.
For institutions striving to become or strengthen their role as Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs), ISATCOVE is much more than a self-assessment tool. It provides a strategic roadmap for institutional transformation, quality assurance, innovation, governance, stakeholder engagement, international cooperation, and greater readiness for future European initiatives and funding opportunities.
For Safety Academia Vocational College, this session was especially valuable as we continue our journey toward institutional excellence, deepen our engagement with the European VET community, expand international partnerships, and align our strategic development with European quality standards and best practices.
