OSH Academy offers a "Train-the-Trainer Course."

 

Basis of the Training

❖ Standard – ANSI/ASSE Z490.1-2009 (Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training);

❖ Guideline – OSHA 3824-08 2015 (Resource for Development and

Delivery of Training to Workers);

❖ Guideline – OSHA 2254-09R 2015 (Training Requirements in OSHA Standards);

❖ Guideline – NIOSH Publication No. 98-145;

❖ Guiding Document – ISSN 1830-5946 European Agency for Safety and Health at Work / Training Teachers to Deliver Risk Education – Examples of Mainstreaming OSH into Teacher Training Programmes.

 

The training is designed for:

  • For persons responsible for developing, conducting, and evaluating occupational safety trainings.
  • For occupational safety specialists and representatives of the managerial level whose responsibilities include preparing and conducting occupational safety trainings.
  • For representatives of any leadership level who evaluate the effectiveness of conducted occupational safety trainings.
  • For anyone interested in the importance and effectiveness of occupational safety trainings.

 

Total training duration: 40 hours

  • 20 hours are contact hours (can be conducted either remotely or in-person).
  • 20 hours are allocated for independent work on assignments, which are reviewed every second training day.
  • On the last day, the assignments completed during the course are presented in front of the audience (conducted only in an in-person format).

 

A prerequisite for attending the training is that the participant must be able to work independently on the internet and in PowerPoint to complete the assignments.

 

Training Course Objective:

1) Introduction to the concept of training and understanding the importance of conducting training.

2) Providing information about the trainer’s role, qualifications, necessary and to-be-developed skills.

3) Familiarization with the stages of Needs Assessment required for preparing training descriptions and developing practical skills.

4) Defining the purpose of the training and formulating the expected outcomes.

5) Formulating the requirements of training program modules and determining their scope.

6) Introduction to training development methodology and development of practical skills.

7) Studying principles of developing practical exercises.

8) Creating tests and understanding their characteristics.

9) Studying the preparation of evaluation forms (for training, trainer, and environment).

10) Determining the technical and other resources needed for training.

11) Preparing the training budget.

12) Introduction to modern teaching methods.

13) Studying and applying principles of adult learning.

14) Providing information about expected difficult situations during training and ways to handle them.

15) Familiarization with audience management techniques.

16) Receiving information about techniques that increase group energy and motivation.

17) Familiarization with presentation preparation standards and development of practical skills.

18) Understanding the importance of nonverbal and verbal communication, as well as first impressions.

19) Developing skills necessary for effective communication.

 

Participants reinforce the theoretical knowledge gained through practical exercises and assignments. On the last day of the training, each attendee presents their work (the prepared training) in front of the audience.

 

Upon completion of the training course, a certificate is issued. To receive the certificate, it is necessary to:

  • The participant must attend the entire training course.
  • The participant must successfully complete the final stage of the training course, which involves presenting the training prepared during the course.
  • After completing the training, the participant must successfully pass the exam test. The test is considered passed if the participant answers at least 70% of the questions correctly.

The training is led by highly qualified trainers with many years of experience in the field of occupational safety.

 

The training cost is determined individually for interested individuals and/or companies.
